What is a Saturday Writing Retreat?

About three times a year, Cardiff Writers’ Studio hosts a day-long writing retreat in a luxury or interesting setting in the Cardiff area. Previous locations include Insole Court, Cardiff Castle, Cathays Cemetery, Penarth Pier Pavilion, and Llandaff Cathedral.

Facilitated in the same spirit as The Sunday Writing Sessions, the Saturday Retreats offer a more capacious workshop experience, where writers can immerse themselves in the world of their imagination and/or memories, with limited interruption.

What can you expect from a Writing Retreat

• Exercises designed to spark new ideas, get the creative juices flowing and the hand moving across the page

• Plenty of thinking time

• More sustained writing experiences to develop ideas, hone imagery, and push narratives further

• Time set aside to reflect upon your current writing practice and writing desires

• Lots of coffee / tea breaks.

How big is the group? Up to 10 individuals

What are the times? 10.30am -4pm

How much does it cost? £60 for the day (£45 unwaged)
